Rourkela: Police have arrested another young couple for allegedly duping the people on the plea of providing them jobs in government posts in Rourkela of Odisha’s Sundargarh district. According to police sources, the fake job racket was basically run by a woman, identified as Laxmi Tanti of Lal Building under Uditnagar police station in the city, while her husband played a passive role. The couple was arrested after one of their victims lodged a police complaint against them.

Bhubaneswar: More than 8,000 beneficiaries of the Odisha government’s ‘Subhadra’ scheme have been re-registered through the latest “opt-in” option in the form. The government introduced the new facility for the Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries who opted out of the scheme by mistake to enable them to add their name. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said the Subhadra Yojana portal provides the new facility for the opted-out beneficiaries to opt in.

Bhubaneswar: In order to keep a track of migration route of the birds coming to Chilika lake in Odisha, the Forest department, for the first time, has equipped two flamingos with solar-powered GPS-GSM trackers. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) (PCCF) Prem Kumar Jha revealed this in a post on X on Saturday. Th initiative aims at tracking the migratory patterns of the annual aviation guests to Chilika, he added.
