Oxygen

Oxygen

Oxygen is a digital cable and satellite TV channel based in the United States, owned by Oxygen Media, LLC, which is a part of NBCUniversal Cable, itself a subsidiary of Comcast. Much like Lifetime and WE tv, Oxygen focuses on programming aimed at women, offering a mix of original reality shows, acquired scripted series, and movies. As of February 2015, around 77.5 million households in America, which is about 66.5% of all TV-watching homes, have access to Oxygen. In early 2014, plans were unveiled for Oxygen to undergo a rebranding on October 7, 2014, along with the introduction of a new logo, to better connect with younger female audiences. On December 12, 2016, reports surfaced that NBCUniversal was discussing a new direction for Oxygen with Dick Wolf, aiming to transform it into a channel focused on crime-related content. By February 1, 2017, it was confirmed that Oxygen would officially rebrand itself as a true crime channel.
