By Martin Hodgson on May 9, 2025 In the comments section you hear it all the time, “Why would they use that bike as the donor for a show machine?” The truth is there are a million reasons why someone might choose a particular make and model for their big dollar, one-off, custom bike build. In what has turned into an all-out arms race, some of the world’s biggest suppliers of aftermarket components have teamed up with various customisers, to take these machines to previously unimaginable levels of form and function. But it would be misleading to think this is a new trend.
