Duquesne has landed another transfer portal prospect. The Dukes earned a commitment from South Florida transfer Jimmie Williams on Saturday. Williams, a 6-foot-5 wing, was just a sophomore this past season. He spent one year at USF. Williams played in 30 games, starting two and averaging 18.3 minutes of action per game. He recently visited Duquesne, and made the news of his commitment official with an Instagram post.

The transfer portal is alive and well, with over 2,100 players in the portal so far from the Division I level. Let’s take a look at which players from the ACC are looking for (or committed to) new schools, sorted by points per game. JAMIR WATKINS – FLORIDA STATEANDREJ STOJAKOVIC – CALJALAND LOWE – PITTLowe, a third-team All-ACC member, played two seasons at Pitt. This year, he averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game for Pitt.
Pitt Reaches Out to Kansas Transfer, Former Final Four Player

The Pitt staff has contacted another transfer in the portal. The 6-foot-6 wing played his first two years of college ball for Alabama, making the Final Four in 2023-24. That year, Griffen started 33 games out of 36 appearances. He averaged 26.3 minutes per game and scored 11.2 points per contest. He averaged 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Griffen hit 74 three pointers as a sophomore at Alabama, and hit 41 this past season at a 34% clip. Griffen recently visited Miami.

Former Pitt guard Marley Washenitz is on the move. Washenitz committed to Arizona State on Thursday. Washenitz entered the portal several weeks ago after several years at Pitt.. According to a report by Talia Goodman, she had received interest from the following schools: West Virginia, Arizona, TCU, Rutgers, UCF, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, SMU, Nebraska, Houston, Arizona State, St. John’s, and Villanova. She ultimately chose the Sun Devils.

The Pitt staff is currently recruiting many players in the transfer portal attempting to bring them to Oakland. The latest player to receive interest from the Panthers’ staff is Dug McDaniel, a 5-foot-11 guard out of Washington D.C.McDaniel played for Kansas State this past season in the Big 12, averaging 11.4 points and 4.9 assists per game. He shot 38% from the field and 26% from three-point range. McDaniel previously played for Michigan for two seasons before transferring to Kansas State.

46 teams have now lost at least ten players to the transfer portal this spring in the Division I college basketball world. According to our transfer portal database over at The Portal Report, 2,142 DI players have entered the portal in men’s basketball so far. The following teams have lost only one player to the portal: Akron, American, Colgate, Cornell, Florida, Houston, Kent State, Kentucky, Lehigh. Marshall, Nebraska, Northwestern, Saint Mary’s, Tennessee, and Yale.

Avonworth basketball star guard Rowan Carmichael announced his collegiate commitment on Tuesday night. Carmichael announced that he has committed to Edinboro, an NCAA Division II school in the PSAC. Pitt Contacts Sharpshooting High-Major Transfer

Pitt has contacted another player in the transfer portal. The Panthers staff recently reached out to Adam Miller, who spent this past season playing for Arizona State. Miller has also played at LSU and Illinois in his collegiate career. The 6-foot-3 guard out of Peoria, Illinois played his high-school ball at Morgan Park in Chicago, becoming a highly-touted recruit. He has played four full seasons of college basketball, but did miss the 2021-22 season due to injury.
