Jeff Capel and the Pitt men’s basketball program have landed another commitment with ties to the Iowa State basketball program. Thursday evening, Macari Moore — a 6-foot-3 point guard from Ann Arbor Huron High School in Michigan — announced his commitment to the Panthers via X.

Pitt football’s three official visit weekends are rapidly approaching for June and the Panthers have a long list of expected visitors. It will be an important stretch for Pitt in terms of its 2026 class as the Panthers look to lock in a slew of commitments. While many recruits announce their official visits in advance, some never step foot on campus as recruitments change directions with commitments and other schools emerging.

The Pitt football program is losing a talented member of their football staff to the NFL. After three seasons with the Pitt Panthers, Alex Kline is taking his talents to the NFL and the Tennessee Titans. The Western Pennsylvania native initially joined Pitt as assistant director of player personnel before he was promoted last year to director of college scouting. His exact role and title have yet to be announced but Kline will be a member of their scouting department.

The Pitt Panthers continue to get word of players that will be making official visits next month, the latest being a lineman from Ohio. 2026 three-star offensive lineman Nathan Zappitelli from Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio will make his Pitt official visit from June 19-21. Pitt officially got involved with Zappitelli when he received an offer from Archie Collins back on March 1. Prior to that, he made an unofficial visit for the California game and made another visit on March 15th.
