    Duquesne has landed another transfer portal prospect. The Dukes earned a commitment from South Florida transfer Jimmie Williams on Saturday. Williams, a 6-foot-5 wing, was just a sophomore this past season. He spent one year at USF. Williams played in 30 games, starting two and averaging 18.3 minutes of action per game. He recently visited Duquesne, and made the news of his commitment official with an Instagram post.

This year, he averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game for Pitt.

    The Pitt staff has contacted another transfer in the portal. The 6-foot-6 wing played his first two years of college ball for Alabama, making the Final Four in 2023-24. That year, Griffen started 33 games out of 36 appearances. He averaged 26.3 minutes per game and scored 11.2 points per contest. He averaged 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Griffen hit 74 three pointers as a sophomore at Alabama, and hit 41 this past season at a 34% clip. Griffen recently visited Miami.

    Former Pitt guard Marley Washenitz is on the move. Washenitz committed to Arizona State on Thursday. Washenitz entered the portal several weeks ago after several years at Pitt.. According to a report by Talia Goodman, she had received interest from the following schools: West Virginia, Arizona, TCU, Rutgers, UCF, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, SMU, Nebraska, Houston, Arizona State, St. John’s, and Villanova. She ultimately chose the Sun Devils.
