Prachatai (www.prachatai.com) is a non-profit online news platform that was founded in June 2004. It aims to deliver trustworthy and pertinent news to the Thai audience, especially during times when the freedom and independence of Thai media faced significant restrictions. The website was created by a dedicated group of Thais, which included a prominent member of the Press Council of Thailand, a respected journalism professor, two senators, experienced journalists, and leaders from various Thai NGOs.
