    A Brisbane aerialist has suffered serious injuries after she plunged six metres in an accident at The Wickham ahead of Big Gay Day in Fortitude Valley last weekend. Last Sunday (May 4), Leonie Ceraolo (pictured) said she was testing an aerial stunt when her sway pole, which was supplied by an aerial equipment hire company, snapped. She fell six metres onto concrete, shattering her jaw and breaking her arm, the aerialist said.

    Brisbane queer venue Come to Daddy has officially launched their inaugural pageant to celebrate the city’s drag kings. Come to Daddy opened in May last year and celebrated its first birthday this month. The pub is an inclusive space for the LGBTQIA+ community, featuring social events, live music, drag shows and more. On Friday night (May 9), the venue’s inaugural Key To The Kingdom contest began, kicking off an eight-week battle to see which Brisbane drag king comes out on top.

    Brisbane’s Melt Festival will bring together Pride Choirs and singers for a huge special music event ‘1000 Voices’ later this year. Brisbane’s annual LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural festival Melt is returning later this year, from October 22 to November 9. Organisers have previously announced Bernadette Peters will perform an exclusive show, and the River Pride Parade will also return for a second year.
