Reckon
Reckon is dedicated to thoroughly examining the significant challenges and issues that the South faces today. We achieve this by engaging in genuine discussions that inspire meaningful actions. Our deep understanding of the region allows us to collaborate with our audience in sharing stories that shape the future of our community. Established in 2017, Reckon has recently shifted its focus, thanks to support from the Google News Initiative, to better listen to our readers about the topics we cover and how we present them. We also foster connections among people through social media, community discussions, and various events. On a national scale, our journalism has received numerous prestigious awards, including several Emmys and a Pulitzer Prize. We have partnered with organizations like the International Center for Journalists, Solutions Journalism Network, and Facebook to create impactful narratives and highlight the stories emerging from the South.
