Minnesota on Tuesday received some good news regarding one of its commitments for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Justin Hopkins, a safety from Nashville, has been committed to the Golden Gophers since February. Still, he remained a target of several programs, including Arkansas, Colorado, and Wisconsin, who all extended offers in the subsequent months. But an official visit to Minnesota the weekend of May 30 was enough to convince Hopkins to shut down his recruitment.

UCLA is shining bright to open its NCAA Tournament run, posting a season high for hits in a regional round drubbing of Fresno State. On Friday, the Bruins opened their potential run to the College World Series as the No. 15 national seed in the entire field. They were immediately all over Fresno State, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to get things rolling. UCLA would eventually add 13 runs across the 7th and 8th innings to push the score to 19-4.

USC is looking for its first Super Regional appearance since 2005. On Friday, the Trojans took a major step in the regional round, blasting past TCU in the opening game of the Corvallis Regional. As the No. 3 seed in the regional, USC entered Friday as the visiting team against the Horned Frogs as the 2-seed. However, the Trojans flipped things on their head with a hot start and capped things off with a late-innings push. From the 6th inning onward, USC outscored TCU 10-0 in the 13-1 win.

USC is looking at a massive performance in the 2026 recruiting, and the Trojans picked up a big-time piece to add to the group on Friday. The latest piece for Lincoln Riley and his staff comes in the form of Mark Bowman, an elite tight end prospect and an in-state recruit out of Mater Dei High School. The 247 Sports Composite has Bowman as the No. 4 overall player out of California, and he eventually committed to USC over offers from Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss and Oregon, among others.
