Scary Mommy

Scary Mommy

Scary Mommy was founded by Jill Smokler in early 2008 as a simple online baby journal to document her experiences as a stay-at-home mom. Over time, it grew into a large and lively community of millions of parents who share a common belief: Parenting doesn’t have to be flawless. In February 2015, Vinit Bharara from the media company Some Spider acquired Scary Mommy. Today, Scary Mommy boasts an extensive and diverse range of editorial resources, including video producers, editors, staff writers, essayists, and breaking news journalists, along with hundreds of contributors from across the nation. Additionally, its in-house studio creates original videos and other multimedia content for its advertising partners.
