SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - It’s been a year since historic flooding hit Siouxland, and work continues to replace a major railroad bridge lost because of the floodwaters. The rising Big Sioux River destroyed a vital link between North Sioux City and Sioux City, the BNSF railroad bridge. The picture below shows the damage the floodwaters left behind and how much progress has been made with the replacement bridge. The collapsed bridge was removed last fall, following two separate controlled blasts.
