Sophomore shortstop Dylan Cupp entered the portal after what was an up and down season for the Cedartown, Ga. native. Cupp came to Starkville after being one of the top defensive shortstops in the country out of high school and he turned down some interest in the Major League Baseball Draft out of high school. A four-time All-State honoree in Georgia, Cupp was the state of Georgia’s Player of the Year as a sophomore and a senior. His final season, Cupp batted .550.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Northeastern entered Friday night’s Tallahassee Regional with Mississippi State with the country’s top pitching staff and a 27-game winning streak in its pocket. Pitching left-handed ace Will Jones, the Huskies felt good about their chances with his sub 2.00 earned run average. MSU ended that hope early. The Diamond Dawgs scored seven runs off of Jones and threw up seven-straight scoreless innings with their pitching in a 11-2 win.

Junior right-handed pitcher Gavin Black and freshman outfielder Landis Davila will both be suiting up elsewhere next season.
