    OXFORD - A former Farmington Police Department officer pleaded guilty Thursday to violating the civil rights of a handcuffed prisoner in September 2023. Gregory Scott Dalton, 52, of Corinth, was indicted by a federal grand jury in January of three counts of depriving the civil rights under the color of law and one count of obstruction of justice. The charges stemmed from incidents on Sept. 18, 2023. While acting as an officer, Dalton was accused of hitting one person in the head with his hand.

    ABERDEEN - An Alcorn County man with a history of stealing cars will spend the next 12 years in a federal prison for stealing a car at gunpoint last fall. Talinn Crystinn Loveless, 24, of Corinth, pleaded guilty in March to carjacking and using a firearm to commit a violent crime. Monday morning, U.S. District Judge Glen Davidson sentenced him to five for stealing the car and seven years for using a gun to do it. By law, the sentences must run consecutively.

Police were called to Stewart Drive in west Tupelo June 16 for a domestic disturbance. The responding officers located the suspect and detained him for further investigations.
