Sunday People

The Sunday People is a British tabloid newspaper that is published on Sundays. It was originally established as The People on October 16, 1881. In 1961, the Mirror Group acquired it, along with the Daily Herald. It continues to be published by the Trinity Mirror Group and shares an online platform with the Mirror newspapers. In July 2011, following the closure of the News of the World, it enjoyed a circulation of about 806,544 copies. However, by January 2014, this number had decreased to 374,820. Although it promotes itself as a "truly independent" newspaper, The People supported the Labour Party in the 2015 general election based on the preferences indicated by its readers through polling data.
