    An individual was pronounced dead in Berkeley on Friday morning after being hit by a BART train, authorities report. BART said the individual entered the trackway at about 6:30 a.m. and was struck on the northbound tracks not far from the North Berkeley station. The Alameda County coroner's office is working to identify the decedent, BART said. No foul play is suspected. The Berkeley Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and located a BART train stopped on the tracks north of Hopkins Street.
