BJ Jones isn’t your typical Cal football player — or sibling. The redshirt sophomore from Oakland has attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD, and is the brother of 6-year-old Xander, who has autism and struggles with speech and overstimulation. The Bears landed California’s top interior lineman in the class of 2026 on Tuesday morning: Archbishop Riordan’s Tommy Tofi. The 6’6”, 330-pounder from San Francisco chose to stay in the Bay after taking an official visit to Berkeley this past weekend. A consensus four-star recruit, Tofi chose Cal over several major programs including Oregon, Tennessee, Ohio State and Miami. “I want to cement my legacy as a hometown hero in the Bay Area,” Tofi said in an interview with Brandon Huffman of 247Sports.
