I’ve found many of the best Seattle wine bars by happenstance, which isn’t surprising given there are so many wine bars in the city. What I love most about Seattle’s wine scene is its diversity. You might think that having Washington and Oregon wine country just a few hours away would mean that’s all wine bars serve, but most wine bars in the city have a variety of old world wines. This means you can refine your palate by comparing wines from all over the world.

As a travel planner, I’m always trying to find the best tours in Seattle for my clients. Most of them prefer to go the self-guided route with the itineraries I create for them, but sometimes you just get more out of an attraction with a narrated tour guide. And hey, as a local I love seeing the city from a new perspective with a tour!Luckily there are a lot of tour options given there’s so much to do in this city.

Despite not having children, I have lots of experience exploring Seattle with kids because I’m super close to my now-teenage nieces. I’m talking I used to live with the oldest for the first 8 months of her life and have consistently seen them 2-3 times a week for almost 15 years. Over that time, I’ve had to figure out things to do with them that capture their attention.

Finding the best things to do in Seattle in May is a breeze because the city reaches its peak in terms of weather. The days are longer, with the sun setting after 8:30 PM, and the weather is a comfortable 50-65°F. All of this is to say, it’s a vibe because the rainy season is nearing a close and locals are eager to get outside. With the warmer spring months in full effect, you can expect a range of springtime activities, be it outdoor festivals, Mother’s Day celebrations, or neighborhood fairs.

Visiting farms near Seattle is one of my favorite activities no matter the time of year. Sure, Seattle has a ton of interesting cultural attractions. But sometimes you just need to touch grass and immerse yourself in nature sans people. Thankfully Washington is a huge agricultural state, so there are a ton of Seattle-area farms within a 1.5 hour drive of the city. Whether you’re looking for u-pick berries, pumpkin patches, or flowers, here’s a roundup of the best farms near Seattle.
