The Federal

The Federal is an online platform that shares news, insights, and opinions, focusing on India through the lens of its states, particularly highlighting the southern region. In today's world, social media and technology are transforming journalism, and we aim to harness these changes by uniting journalists, designers, engineers, data analysts, and product managers in our newsroom to create new and trustworthy storytelling methods. In an era filled with extreme viewpoints, we strive to restore balance in news coverage. Our goal is to thoroughly examine important issues that matter to citizens but often go unnoticed. We are part of New Generation Media Corporation Private Limited, which has a variety of print and media offerings. Our journey began in 2009 with the launch of Puthiya Thalaimurai, a news and information magazine published in Tamil. The print division also includes specialized magazines focused on women and education. In 2011, New Generation Media introduced its first television news channel, also named Puthiya Thalaimurai, which quickly became popular and set new standards in Tamil TV journalism. It remains a leading channel to this day. Additionally, the company operates an entertainment channel called Puthu Yugam. The Federal marks our inaugural foray into English-language news media.
