The Jewish Link of New Jersey

The Jewish Link of New Jersey

The Jewish Link of New Jersey (JLNJ) started in March 2013 as a community-focused newspaper for Bergen County. By 2015, we broadened our reach to include Union and Essex Counties, and in 2016, we added Passaic and Middlesex Counties to our coverage. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, hyper-local news in full color, featuring engaging articles, Divrei Torah, columns, and opinion pieces penned by writers who have deep ties to our communities. JLNJ serves as a platform and voice for the vibrant and growing religious communities in Bergen, Middlesex, Essex, Union, and Passaic Counties. This includes areas such as Bergenfield, Elizabeth/Hillside, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Linden, Fort Lee, Livingston, New Milford, Paramus, Springfield, Teaneck, Tenafly, and West Orange. In Middlesex County, we report on East Brunswick, Edison, and Highland Park, as well as Passaic and Clifton. Dedicated to showcasing the richness of our diverse Jewish community, JLNJ strives for honesty and transparency in our reporting. We frequently highlight local schools, synagogues, community organizations, and our youth and school sports leagues.

Once again, the Jewish state stands alone in the eye of the storm. Once again, it stands unafraid. And like all such moments in Jewish history, it comes not in comfort but in crisis. It is a moment of transformation—from anxious legitimacy to unassailable sovereignty—a moment when Israel stops asking for permission and starts enforcing outcomes. Iran is exposed.

For decades, borrowers have faced an uphill battle when seeking to discharge student loan debt through bankruptcy. The prevailing presumption in both federal and private student loan cases is that such debt is not dischargeable. Unlike credit card balances or medical bills, student loans require an additional, and often arduous, legal showing known as the “undue hardship” standard.

If you’re planning on getting married nowadays, you won’t get far without a shidduch resume. Ask anyone. Well, not anyone with a child of marriageable age because none of those people had shidduch resumes. Nor did any gedolim. In the old days, nobody had shidduch resumes. What on earth did we do? Maybe everyone kept it all in their heads, I don’t remember. There were a lot fewer people; I know that. Definitely for most of Jewish history there were no resumes.

When life feels good, whether from riding a roller coaster, playing a favorite sport, eating delicious food, or attaining a goal, the release of dopamine in the brain helps create that positive feeling. For a limited time this year, Dopamine Land is open to the public at the Garden State Plaza Mall. This interactive exhibition offers visitors a chance to relax, enjoy some friendly competition, get creative, and feel a sense of wonder.
