As part of a recently announced effort to aid youth in the Cuyahoga County Justice System, the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court and the County’s Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) jointly established a new position, forensic liaison. The position will work to identify youth involved with the juvenile court who meet the definition of having a developmental disability. The role was filled and began work this February.

One hundred years ago, a pioneering librarian opened a new flagship for the pioneering Cleveland Public Library. Linda Anne Eastman, the nation’s first woman in charge of a big-city library system, led the creation of the $4.6 million Cleveland Main Library at 325 Superior Ave. Throughout the ensuing century, Main Library has offered world-leading collections, expansive services, an innovative layout, and the oldest open stacks at a major metropolitan library.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio (BGCNEO) will offer free meals to kids at select sites throughout the summer. The Summer Food Service Program will include three locations in Cleveland. “Childhood hunger is unfortunately an issue in some of our neighborhoods, and we want to make sure the youth we serve have access to food during our summer sessions,” said BGCNEO CEO Allen Smith. “During the school year, we provide a free daily meal.
