In Rye, the team had their best weather of the season, and it showed in some of the scores, coach Russ Johnson said. Senior Kaelin Martellaro made her lowest score ever of 81, placing sixth. Senior Kyndra Johnson placed first in the tournament with a score of 72.

    DENVER – A suicide five years ago in the Saguache County jail has led to a jury verdict in a lawsuit against jail staff that awarded $4 million to the estate of the victim. The verdict came April 9 at U.S. District Court for Colorado in Denver in the trial for Sarah Lieberenz's lawsuit as the representative of the estate of her son, Jackson Maes. He was a detainee who hung himself in his cell in 2019.

Jones has been with CCFPD since 2014, where her husband was also a volunteer.     Central Colorado Mountain Riders aims to make dirt biking safer by offering two Motorcycle Safety Foundation dirt bike classes April 26 at Chaffee County Fairgrounds, 10165 CR 120 in Poncha Springs.  Two classes will be offered. One, a new addition, is designed for ages 6-11, the other for those ages 12 and older. Participants will learn how to sit on and operate bikes, gain better control and balance and navigate obstacles.
