WFLX-TV (West Palm Beach, FL)

WFLX, known as "Fox 29," serves as the Fox-affiliated television station for the Gold and Treasure Coasts in South Florida. Based in West Palm Beach, the station transmits a high-definition digital signal on UHF channel 28 (virtual channel 29) from a transmitter located in Lake Worth, just west of US 441/SR 7. Viewers can tune in on Comcast channel 11 and watch in high definition on digital channel 434. While Raycom Media holds the broadcast license, WFLX is operated by the E. W. Scripps Company under a shared services agreement with Scripps-owned NBC affiliate WPTV-TV, established in March 2011. All physical assets, programming, and intellectual property of WFLX are owned by Scripps. The station shares its studios with WPTV, located on South Australian Avenue in Downtown West Palm Beach.

Lows this evening will be around 70 degrees with clear skies. A high-pressure system sitting over our area is going to cause temperatures to rise each day. A streak of temperatures reaching into the 90s will stick with us for the next week. We are solid into “muggy” on the humidity meter, with humidity levels increasing each day this week.

Temperatures will be toasty today, with highs in the upper 80s. Areas around Belle Glade and Okeechobee could hit 90 degrees! Skies will be sunny. Starting tomorrow, a larger part of our area will see that 90-degree heat, which will be the trend at least through the weekend.
EF0 tornado with 85 mph winds touches down in The Acreage, snapping large pine trees 'near the trunk'

Officials with the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that a brief EF0 tornado touched down Monday evening in The Acreage. The NWS said that the tornado was spawned by a "supercell thunderstorm" that moved northeast across Palm Beach County from Lion Country Safari through the city of Westlake and into The Acreage. Kara Hanning, the mom of 2-year-old Adalynn Mae Sadler, said she wouldn’t wish this tragedy on anybody. On May 5, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was called out to a home in Keithville, Louisiana, to do a welfare check. When deputies got there, they said Adalynn’s grandfather, 60-year-old Leroy Sadler, refused to communicate with them.
Florida Oceanographic Center's 3-D printed reefs helping sea life thrive

At the Florida Oceanographic Center in Stuart, feeding time gets the attention of the inhabitants of the Gamefish Lagoon. Now, a two-ton piece of concrete hopes to capture that same attention. Two 3-D printed concrete reefs were lowered into the water on Tuesday. We are under a marginal level 1 threat for severe weather due to scattered storms in the morning. Strong wind gusts and localized flooding will be the primary threats. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. A large part of South Florida, including Palm Beach County, is under a Flood Watch until 8 a.m. Tuesday.
