Winchester Sun
The Winchester Sun made its debut on November 1, 1878, originally as The Semi-Weekly Sun. It transitioned to the Winchester News on October 12, 1908, becoming the first daily newspaper in the area. In 1912, it adopted the name The Sun. The publication relocated to its current spot at Wall Street and Cleveland Avenue in 1924. In 1936, the Tatman family from Connersville, Indiana, purchased the Sun. James Tatman was the publisher until he passed away in 1988, and the family continued to run the newspaper until it was sold to Schurz Communications on August 2, 2005. Boone Newspapers, Inc. took over ownership in early 2016. The Sun serves as the official newspaper for Clark County and also provides commercial printing services using their Atlas web press. For online readers interested in news from Winchester and Clark County, the newspaper's website is www.winchestersun.com.
