KBMT is the ABC-affiliated TV station serving the Golden Triangle region of Southeast Texas, officially licensed to the area. It transmits a high-definition digital signal on VHF channel 12 from its transmitter located in Mauriceville. Viewers can also access the station through Time Warner cable, DISH, DirecTV, and various other cable providers across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. Owned by TEGNA Broadcasting, KBMT operates its studios along the I-10/U.S. 69/U.S. 96/U.S. 287 corridor in Southeast Texas. Since the digital transition began over a decade ago, KBMT has expanded its network to include five additional stations, forming the core of The Networks of 12News.

    BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 72-year-old bicyclist last week. Cuong Van Tran, a Beaumont resident, was hit by a dark-colored sedan while riding his bicycle southbound on Avenue C around 5:52 p.m. on May 24, according to police. The vehicle left the scene after the collision, and continued southbound.
