EUGENE, Ore. - A historic building seemingly tucked away from sight in in South Eugene is experiencing too much vandalism, according to those who use it. The Saraha Nyingmba Buddhist Institute in Eugene was established in 2012 after the building was purchased from the Unitary Universalist Church. The institute, which is also a temple, even had it's own school for children.

EUGENE, Ore. - A Eugene family is warning people about an online scam known as "muse scams," after their 20-year old daughter was scammed out of $300 and received threatening messages. The mother and daughter, who wish to remain anonymous, told KEZI 9 News how it all started on TikTok on April 1, when someone directly messaged the daughter's account.

NORTH BEND, Ore. – Four passengers and one pilot are in stable condition with minor injuries after a private passenger jet crashed into Coos Bay Monday morning, according to the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport. North Bend Fire Department officials said emergency responders received an automated alert at 6:12 a.m. on April 7 regarding a small plane that reportedly overshot the runway at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport and crashed into Coos Bay.

EUGENE, Ore. - The public's input is needed to help shape the future of the Lane Events Center. On April 3, the Lane Events Center will host an Open House to seek the community's feedback on its master plan. According to the LEC's sales and events supervisor, Kelly Mason, the new master plan has been in the works since 2017. "Back in 2017, we did start a long-range planning, master planning process that did get paused eventually, but this is kind of the reboot of that," she said.

EUGENE, Ore. - It's the end of an era for a federal climate change lawsuit originally filed in Eugene back in 2015. On March 24, the United States Supreme Court rejected a petition for certiorari, or review, filed by plaintiffs in the Juliana v. United States court case, effectively ending the case's nearly decade-long run in the courts system.
