Two people were killed and at least nine others -- including three teenagers -- were injured in a mass shooting at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia late Monday night, police said. Police said there was a large gathering near Lemon Hill Drive and Sedgley Drive around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, May 26, when shots were fired. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said a total of 11 people -- including three teenagers ages 15, 16, and 17 -- were struck by gunfire.

Fairmount Park in Philadelphia was shut down late on Monday night after a deadly shooting. Sources at the scene near Lemon Hill Drive said that the shooting happened on May 26 as a large gathering of people were spending time at the park. Philadelphia police Inspector D.F. Pace confirmed to NBC10 that two people were killed. At least a dozen cop cars could be seen inside the park just after 11 p.m. as a helicopter circled above. This is a developing story. Officials identified the University of Delaware graduate student who they say was struck and killed by the driver of a U-Haul truck. Marina Vasconcelos, 24, of Northeast, Maryland, was killed in a chain-reaction crash that also injured seven other people in Newark, Delaware, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, police said. Gordon Turner, 22, of New Castle, Delaware, was arrested in connection to the crash.
