EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - As NFL’s annual draft wrapped up tonight, one Evansville native got a very big phone call just after the draft. Memorial High School grad Branson Combs got a call right after the draft from the Jacksonville Jaguars who signed him as an undrafted free agent. Combs starred at linebacker last season for Wake Forest where he had 94 total tackles, two sacks, one interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) - A probable cause affidavit has been issued for the arrest of Jonathan G. Fiscus for murder in Gibson County. 14 News spoke with family members, who tell us Jonathan was son of the victim, 57-year-old Brad Fiscus. Police say on Thursday, the 24-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop in Paris, Illinois, for allegedly driving a stolen car.

KENTUCKY (WFIE) - Several weeks after a historic flood, western Kentucky is just starting to recover, however, there are some financial roadblocks. Officials say FEMA relief has not yet been approved for the impacted areas. In order for an area impacted by a natural disaster to receive FEMA Aid, a disaster declaration must first be approved. Jack Whitfield, judge executive in Hopkins County, says they do not have the declaration they need for FEMA to come in and offer financial assistance.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE/Gray News) - Authorities in Indiana said two people have been arrested after 40 pounds of methamphetamine were found at a local mail facility. According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, the drugs were found in two suspicious packages addressed to a location of Ridgeway Avenue in Evansville. Officials said they kept watch at the location and noticed two people take the packages before returning to a white van.
