    ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Ishpeming’s Italian Fest is back at for their 124th year of serving up good food, fun, and music. Italian Fest will be kicked off at noon with the Sounds Of Time playing live, later in the day Diamante a familiar Italian fest favorite will start playing at 5p.m. and go till 7p.m.Italian fest is filled with good food, including some featured classics from St. Rocco’s, cudighi and the Italian meatball dinner.

    NEGAUNEE Mich. (WZMQ) – After being delayed by Covid, the Negaunee 2023-2028 Master Plan has been adopted by the Planning Commission. The Master Plan was released Tuesday morning, and is now available for public view. The plan was in review for 63 days as a requirement by the state of Michigan before becoming adopted. Negaunee had previously sent to it’s residents various surveys, and held public meetings to receive feedback from their residents.

    NEGAUNEE Mich. (WZMQ) – Negaunee’s new Iron Forge Playground is up and ready for kids to have fun on. Iron Forge playground is the result of a five-year project that was started by the Negaunee Township recreation committee and Township board. The new playground was completed this summer, but plans to add working bathrooms, and other expansions are expected to go on for the next couple of years. Based off of Negaunee’s iron ore heritage, this playground has many features that others may not have.

    MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette Waterfront Safety currently has a shortage of lifeguards for the 2023 season, and they are still looking for applicants. “Right now, we can only run one beach because we are short staffed,” says Andon Buyarski, the Assistant Head Lifeguard. “It’d be nice if we could get more.”With the ability to only staff one beach, Marquette Waterfront Safety is looking for 10 or more lifeguards to fill their post’s.
