Getting Acclimated: MTU Football Hosts Annual Spring Game

HOUGHTON, Mich. (WJMN/WBUP) - The Michigan Tech Football team held their annual spring game on Saturday. It was the last of 15 total practices the team held this spring to complete phase two of their offseason program. The day started with individual positional work which led into the team splitting into three offensive and defensive groups with the Huskies' offense going up against the Huskies' defense. Unlike on an actual gameday, there was no score being kept and no live tackling.

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan Football team returns to the gridiron this weekend, as they will host the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs for a spring game on Saturday, April 12th at 2:30 p.m. in the Superior Dome. This will be the first opportunity for fans to get a glimpse at the 2025 squad in action. The game will consist of live segments that will be modified to coaches' intervention. The setup will have four different field zones that each team will compete from.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN/WBUP) - This June, youth basketball players will get an opportunity to learn from Wildcat royalty. The Rise Up Academy Basketball Camp will be held at Marquette Senior High School June 13th through the 15th. The camp was founded by Alyssa (Colla) DeCicco in 2022. DeCicco, originally from Muskego, Wisconsin, played at Northern Michigan under Troy Mattson from 2011 to 2015.

Currently navigating through his ninth year of wrestling, Stachewicz got his start as a member of the Gwinn Youth Wrestling Program.
