Jan. 19 was a sad day for many of us in the United States. It was the day that our beloved app, TikTok, was banned seemingly for good, only for it to be back up around 14 hours later. But before it came back, there were many times when our fingers would stray to the graveyard of an app in an attempt to scroll mindlessly, only to remember that the app was unusable. Many, like myself, kept the app on my phone in remembrance. I found it almost funny that I had an app on my phone that didn’t work.

If you were walking or driving downtown this past Saturday, you were probably overrun by a sea of students dressed as bananas. These bananas, which are not a common sight in downtown Clemson, were part of the Banana Bar Crawl. Started in Canadian universities by MOSEA, a marketing agency,, the Banana Bar Crawl was inspired by a viral TikTok and has since gathered North American notoriety, even partnering with Happy Dad and Barstool Sports.

If you’re looking for a relaxing and entertaining activity on Clemson’s campus, look no further than the department of physics and astronomy’s very own planetarium, which hosts events throughout the semester. The recent showing of “Wonders of the Universe” made for a particularly delightful Wednesday afternoon when a small crowd of eager viewers waited outside room 112 of the Kinard Laboratory of Physics.

We all joke about it. Clemson is practically a never-ending construction zone. No matter where you go on campus, some renovation, project or demolition is taking place. All of this increased construction, however, continues to impact the daily experiences of students — and not in a good way. I understand the necessity of construction.
