ROWAYTON, Conn. — Exciting changes are coming to Bayley Beach as plans for a new playground move forward. Thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Bayley Beach (FBB) and contributions from more than 100 Rowayton families, the group has raised 75% of the $450,000 goal needed to replace the current aging structures. The new playground, designed in collaboration with local organizations, will feature increased accessibility, natural landscaping, and play structures for children of all ages.

NORWALK, Conn. — Connecticut’s fifth Hobby Lobby is under construction at 380 Main Ave, a former Bob’s Stores location. Norwalk’s Planning and Zoning Department issued a permit for the 38,000-square-foot space in March, prior reporting shows. Nancy on Norwalk has reached out to Hobby Lobby for more information, Hobby Lobby has not responded at this time.

When they adopted an overhaul of Norwalk’s zoning regulations last February, Planning and Zoning Commissioners and city officials knew that wasn’t the end of the story. “Things always look great on paper, and sometimes they don’t pencil out or work on the ground,” Planning and Zoning Director Steve Kleppin told a public hearing last week. In the zoning overhaul, he said, these things included some “really problematic” changes that the city has already moved to fix.
