Mounties are investigating after a woman was reportedly bit by a large dog north of Nanaimo last week, requiring stitches. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on April 9, near the intersection of Superior Road and Island Highway North in Lantzville. The woman told police that she was walking past the dog, who was on leash, when the dog seemingly became spooked and turned towards her.

U.S. Coast Guard seeks missing boat near Vancouver Island

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is searching for a missing boat that had three people on board and departed near Vancouver Island. The coast guard says the 4.5 metre (15 foot) recreational vessel departed off Neah Bay, Washington, on Wednesday morning. Neah Bay is located just southwest of Port Renfrew, about 20 kilometres away, a shorter distance than Port Renfrew to Victoria.

Humboldt Bar, located at 722 Humboldt St. at the base of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Suites, was ranked the 69th best bar on the continent, according to the list released Tuesday.
