MIDLAND, Texas — Meet Geovonnie, the Pet of the Week for the Midland Humane Coalition (MHC). Geovonnie, or Geo for short, is 13 weeks old, bright-eyed and playful. He is a Pitbull mix who was rescued by MHC from the city shelter alongside his mom and littermates. MHC said he has proven himself to be a resilient, affectionate little dog. Geo is full of energy, loves to explore and has a great big heart filled with love to give away, according to MHC.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — A third measles case has been reported in Midland County Thursday, according to the Midland Health Department. The department is working to identify exposures and notify exposed individuals. An adult resident is the third person to contract measles in the county. As of Tuesday, there are 561 measles case reported in the West Texas Outbreak.

REEVES COUNTY, Texas — TX Hwy 1450 is currently shut down due to a semi-truck that rolled over, according to Reeves County Texas on Wednesday. The rollover happened 19 miles southeast of the Town of Pecos City. The county said Reeves County Emergency Service Districts Nos. 1 & 2 among other first responders are on scene working to clear the roadway. A video posted by the county appears to show a helicopter landing along Hwy 1450. Drivers are urged to reduce speed when approaching the area.

ODESSA, Texas — Three men face capital murder charges after an eight-year-old boy died from a gunshot wound to the head he sustained in a shooting on April 7, according to the Odessa Police Department (OPD). The eight-year-old was in Lubbock in serious condition for a week and unfortunately passed away on Monday, police say. The shooting occurred at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of W. Monahans. Both 24-year-old Santos Roman and Anthony Ramon were the suspects originally arrested.
