A pair of Peoria-area state champion wrestlers will continue their careers at the NCAA Division-I level. Washington's Peyton Cox is headed to North Dakota State, while Bowden Delaney of Tremont has committed to Bellarmine University. Both wrestlers were members of the 2025 Journal Star all-area team. Cox, who finished with a 40-4 record, put a bow on his prep career by winning the 144-pound Class 2A state title.

This is the return game from last season's 100-87 victory by the Crimson Tide in Birmingham. These two programs were NCAA Tournament teams this past March with Alabama making the Elite Eight, while Illinois advanced to the second round.
