A law enforcement officer fell to his death from a ninth-floor window in Jersey City Friday morning, according to officials, sparking an investigation. The stunning scene unfolded at the Hudson County Administration Building on Newark Avenue just before 9:30 a.m., as 29-year-old Justin Rivera somehow fell out of the window, leaving a large hole in the glass. "I heard glass smash and I saw this man come straight down," said witness Steve Roosen.

The unofficial start of summer got off to a chaotic start along one part of the Jersey Shore, where the boardwalks and beaches were plagued with violence over the holiday weekend. Officers in Seaside Heights had to shutdown the town's famed boardwalk around midnight Sunday night to help ensure public safety, after police said they made dozens of arrests over the course of the weekend. Investigators said they responded to at least three separate stabbings across the borough in the three-day span.

A car flew out of a Jersey City parking garage, went airborne and crashed down onto the sidewalk below landing upside down Friday morning just steps from a daycare on the ground floor of the building. It happened at the intersection of JFK Boulevard and Newark Avenue around 9 a.m. The crash caused a loud bang bringing people in the area outside to see what happened. Witnesses said the driver did not appear to be seriously injured and was able to get out of the car on her own.
