VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — An apparent road rage incident that happened Friday morning landed one man in the Vanderburgh County Jail. Around 10 a.m., authorities say a driver called 911 and said someone had pointed a gun at them on I-64. The victim told police they were passing a driver in a black truck, when the driver of a truck pointed a handgun toward them. Authorities say they were able to find the truck in Warrick County, and identify the driver as 69-year-old Alan Mesmer.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WEVV) — State health officials have reported the deaths of two infants from whooping cough in Kentucky over the past six months. These are the first whooping cough-related fatalities in the state since 2018. Officials with the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) highlighted the importance of vaccinations for pregnant women and infants to prevent such tragedies.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A West Franklin Street bar recently at the center of controversy has a new owner and a new name. Thursday, it was announced that Chaser's Bar & Grill on West Franklin Street in Evansville had been sold to new owners, and would be undergoing a full rebrand. The bar and grill has now rebranded as "Six Strings Bar & Grill" under new owner Derek Ungethiem, who also currently operates the Hornet's Nest Steakhouse and local Qdoba franchises.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEVV) — Police are at the scene of a wreck on Green Street in Henderson. Henderson Police Department officials say the 911 call came in at 1:18 p.m. for a crash with injuries in the 1600 block of Green Street, by the Dollar General store. We're told three vehicles were involved. HPD says officers are assisting drivers in both directions to avoid a full closure. Anyone in the area is being asked to use caution.

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — Friday After 5 has been called off again due to bad weather. Organizers of the event in Owensboro shared the announcement on Friday afternoon. "Due to the potential for severe weather forecasted for this afternoon and evening, and in the interest of safety, we have made the decision to CANCEL tonight's Friday After 5 - THE JACK WHARFF BAND with Hayley Payne," the announcement says. Weather permitting, the event will return to Owensboro next Friday.
