Tulsa Public Schools confirmed one student attended Booker T. Washington High School. Booker T. Washington Principal Dr. Melissa Woolridge identified the student as Donald “DJ” Laster in a letter sent to Hornet families.

Around 5:40 p.m., KHP said two vehicles collided head-on and were engulfed in flames. Eight people were killed, and one person was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries, per KHP. The two-lane highway was closed for several hours, but is back open now. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

In a Facebook post , the department stated the incident occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27. Reports indicate an individual illegally shot a turkey near 343rd and Jingo Road, southwest of the Louisburg area. Authorities are searching for the white pickup truck believed to be involved.
