ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU)—Multiple people are displaced after a residential fire broke out in a three-story multi-plex building on Blackberry St., according to an AFD spokesperson. The fire was contained shortly before 11 p.m. AFD responded to the fire around 10 p.m. There are no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU)—Over the course of a few hours Friday night into Saturday morning, AFD responded to three fires, according to the fire department. AFD explained the third fire, a house fire, was worth mentioning due to a car driving over a 5-inch hose being used as a water supply line.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU) - 37-year-old Joseph Casas was shot and killed in Fairbanks Friday, according to Fairbanks police. FPD arrested Adayas Robertson, 24, who has been charged with first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and two counts of violating conditions of release. Friday at 9:52 a.m., a report of shots fired at an apartment on 27th Avenue was received by the city’s emergency communication center. Responding officers located Casas with a gunshot wound to the head.

HOMER, Alaska (KTUU) - On Friday afternoon, Homer Police responded to the scene of a collision involving a bicyclist and found civilians performing CPR on a man. They say he likely suffered a cardiac event while bicycling and fell, striking his head. The incident happened near Glenview and the Sterling Highway in Homer. Sgt’s Dave Shealy, Taylor Crowder, and Sean Perry responded to the scene and took over CPR and utilized an AED. They were able to recover a pulse.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - On Saturday, the Unalaska Fire Department recovered the body of fisherman Jacob Riley Veeser. His body was discovered in the water along Captain’s Bay Rd.28-year-old Veeser had been missing since the night of April 3. A search began for the man on Friday, but it was paused at 11:25 p.m. Friday night. At 8:00 a.m. Saturday, members of the U.S. Coast Guard, Alaska State Troopers, Unalaska Fire Department, and Unalaska Police Department continued their search for Veeser.
