CHICO, Calif. — A Chico woman has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of attempting to run over a police officer on a sidewalk in September 2023. The Butte County District Attorney's Office announced that 40-year-old Lorayna Patricia Gonzalves was sentenced on Wednesday to 25 years to life in state prison for assault with a deadly weapon, plus an additional 11 years for fleeing from an officer.
