Arcata alone saw growth, of about 300 people, among cities in the county that all saw a slight decline. According to data estimates from California’s Department of Finance, Humboldt County had 0.1% fewer people, from 133,888 to 133,817 people as of Jan. 1, compared with that same date in 2024.
