A chemical incident at the Snyder Water Treatment Plant has resulted in an immediate evacuation of the nearby area, according to a statement from the City of Snyder. About 1:34 p.m. Wednesday, city officials posted on social media that there was an ongoing chemical incident. The incident is a ruptured chemical tank at the water treatment plant. This has triggered a request for people to evacuate the area between 37th Street and 25th Street from Avenue M to Avenue J.

Here are the highlights. After an incredible behind-the-scenes tour at the Museum of Texas Tech University, 3301 4th St., we had to make some adjustments from a one-story piece to a series. On Saturday, we launched the first part, highlighting the paleontology exhibit and collection.
