Eid celebrations in Darnall will be tinged with sadness today following the death of a 16-year-old boy that has sparked a murder investigation. Abdullah ‘Abdul’ Yaha Al-Zaidy was killed on Staniforth Road, Darnall, at around 4.50pm on Wednesday in a collision involving a grey Audi and an electric bike.

Two brave members of the public today told how they desperately tried to give CPR to a 16-year-old schoolboy who was fatally injured in a crash on a Sheffield street. Abdullah Yaha Al-Zaidy was run over an incident on Staniforth Road, Darnall, at around 4.50pm on Wednesday, June 4 when he was involved in a collision with an electric bike and a grey Audi. The teenage victim later died in hospital, while the 18 year old male riding the electric bike involved in the crash was also seriously injured.

Two men who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious incident in Nether Edge have been bailed. Machon Bank and Wath Road in Nether Edge, as well as Clarkehouse Road, Broomhall, were sealed off by police for hours on Tuesday evening (June 3) following reports of a stabbing. Two young men, aged 20 and 22, reportedly suffered potentially life-changing injuries in the incident and remain in hospital.
