A weather expert has pinpointed the exact day we should see temperatures soar in Ireland next week - but he has also poured cold water over talks of a heatwave. Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said that "there is a chance" a band of warm air will move up towards Ireland and the UK next week, which could usher in a spell of sunny weather from Tuesday onwards. Met Eireann say we can expect "plenty of dry and bright weather for early next week" with temperatures expected to hit peaks in the 20s on Tuesday. But we have to get through today to get there - and today isn't set to be pleasant. Dubliners waking up this Friday morning are doing so to a wet and nippy capital, with rain set to stick around throughout the day.
