TD Ruth Coppinger has called on all Dáil parties to allow a free vote on her proposed bill which would ban fox hunting. Coppinger’s bill will move to the second stage after receiving support from the government parties, but curiously, not Sinn Féin. As the bill moves to the second stage, Coppinger said that a free vote would help clear up confusion, noting that a free vote was allowed during Repeal and on the assisted dying debate last year.

Labour TD and climate spokesperson Ciaran Ahern has said that the government has “no interest” in tackling fast fashion. This week, the European Parliament agreed on a €2 flat fee on what they call “low-value packages” into Europe, with the aim of tackling fast fashion packages from companies such as Shein. Ahern noted that the decision from Europe puts the government in a bind, as Shein’s European HQ is based in Dublin, with then-Minister for Enterprise Simon Coveney opening the HQ in 2023.

The Phoenician Scheme is the latest film from auteur Wes Anderson The French New Wave was built on the tenets of French film critics who had seen every American and British movie and used those sensibilities to tell stories in their unique voice. Over 60 years later, the coin has flipped; now, American directors are the ones cribbing from Europe. This is apparent in the works of Wes Anderson, the most European person to ever come from Texas.

When I bailed from Twitter (I'm never calling it X) last September/October I realised my last tweet wasn't especially indicative of what a final tweet should be. I figured with more people leaving this place I want my final tweet to be something that represents me. Stand by..

Psst - I've migrated over to the other website that we're not supposed to name. I'm posting my content over there now. https://t.co/1Dd7hxtZVO This message will self-destruct in... https://t.co/SygxIu1AQ1

With everyone finally seeing sense and bailing from Twitter, I've been on Bluesky since last September with the same handle as here and the same inane content you'd come to know from me. Slán and see you all on the other side ✌️ https://t.co/1Dd7hxtZVO
