There were no opponents to Bacik’s leadership following the opening of entries on April 30, and this remained the case when the deadline passed on May 8.

Fine Gael councollor Eoghan Dockrell Fine Gael councillor Eoghan Dockrell has called on Fingal County Council to improve roads around the Donabate area. The R126 from Donabate leads onto the M1, but traffic congestion in the area has gotten worse as the population and number of road users increase. With Donabate’s population only increasing, the issue needs to be sorted sooner, rather than later, according to the Fine Gael councillor.

Fingal County Council members have called on Uisce Éireann to step up and improve water services in Fingal. At a Thursday (May 8) meeting of the Balbriggan/Rush-Lusk/Swords area committee, councillors from both government and opposition parties have expressed frustration that Uisce Éireann are not engaging with Fingal County Council.
