Top legislative Democrats say they're ready to negotiate with Gov. Ned Lamont over a much-debated housing bill he has asked them to reexamine. Lamont, who has until June 24 to sign or veto the legislation, has expressed particular concern with a provision that establishes a targeted number of affordable housing units for each town in the state to build. Though he hasn't explicitly committed to veto the bill, he has said legislators would have to "fix" it to gain his support.
