Some recreational sites in Connecticut could see reduced hours and diminished services this summer due to a federal freeze. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' New England district announced that recreation sites across the region "will experience reduced hours, limited access to facilities, and significantly reduced services" due to a freeze on all federal government hiring President Donald Trump implemented upon taking office in January.

HARTFORD - Senate Democrats confirmed controversial energy regulator Marissa Gillett to another four-year term Tuesday, as Republicans left the chamber to protest what they claimed was a corrupt process. Gillett, who has chaired Connecticut's Public Utilities Regulatory Authority since 2019, has earned a reputation for stringent regulation of Eversource, United Illuminating and other utility companies, winning lawsuits to block proposed rate increases.
