Edison NJ resident displaced in New Dover Road house fire

EDISON – One resident was displaced following a two-alarm house fire Friday morning on New Dover Road, Fire Chief Andy Toth said. Township firefighters responded around 4:47 a.m. to a two-story home where they reported heavy black smoke coming out of the front door, Toth said. The fire took an hour and a half to put out with the help of the North Stelton fire department. One resident self-evacuated before the firefighters’ arrival and was not injured, Toth said.

Carteret NJ families displaced by two-alarm fire

CARTERET – Two families were displaced by a two-alarm fire on Thornal Street on Monday afternoon. Borough firefighters responded around 3:50 p.m. to the blaze where they reported smoke outside and heavy fire inside the building, Carteret Fire Chief Eric Wahl said. All residents evacuated before the firefighters’ arrival, and there were no injuries reported. The blaze was put out in a little under an hour by firefighters from Carteret, Perth Amboy, Colonia, Iselin and Keasby, Wahl said.
