NEW BRUNSWICK – One teen has been arrested while another is being sought in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old last week. The teens were charged with acts of juvenile delinquency for offenses which if committed by an adult would constitute murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Carteret police: Driver blows stop sign, crashes into school bus

CARTERET – A 51-year-old borough woman was injured Friday morning after police say she blew a stop sign and crashed into the side of a school bus. Police responded around 8:36 a.m. to the area of Pershing and Pulaski avenues where an investigation found the woman driving a Nissan Pathfinder failed to stop at the stop sign on Pulaski Avenue and struck a small, 14-passenger school bus on the passenger’s side entrance door, said Carteret Police Capt. Michael Dammann.

Two Linden firefighters injured battling East Blancke Street house blaze

LINDEN – Two city firefighters were injured Tuesday night battling an East Blancke Street house fire. Linden firefighters and police responded around 9:30 p.m. to the two-alarm blaze where they found the two-family home engulfed in flames on the second floor, authorities said. Firefighters confirmed all residents had safely evacuated, but during the search two firefighters fell through the floor and were then treated at the scene for minor injuries, authorities said.

NORTH BRUNSWICK – A building was damaged in the North Brunswick Manor apartment complex after a fire Monday afternoon. Around 3:10 p.m. on March 24, North Brunswick police received multiple calls reporting smoke from a building on Birchwood Court. Upon arrival, authorities found a two-story apartment building on fire, North Brunswick Police Captain Brian Hoiberg said.
