TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Two years ago, the Wakulla softball team played for their first ever state championship. The War Eagles fell short in bringing home their first state title, and they’ve been thinking about it ever since, especially this senior class. “I think it was good last year that we did have that loss so that it showed everyone that it can happen,” said senior Kaylee Walker.

Thursday at Chiles High School in Tallahassee, nine student athletes made things official. They’re getting that chance. Those nine signings representing eight different sports.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Elizabeth Dowdy hasn’t spent her entire life flipping over a pole vault cross bar. She spent nearly a decade doing flips as a gymnast. “It took a lot of time, and I just decided I wanted to try something new.”She started pole vaulting fall of her freshman year at Maclay. “Track season starts January, February, and you could tell she picked it up and had no fear,” said head track and field coach Angie Milford.
