Travis Gaertner (File / FOX 13) The bicycle is a perfect synthesis between the human body and machine — they need each other to go faster. Travis Gaertner and his bike go faster than almost everyone in the world. "You just try to make the bike as an extension of your body. It feels like you’re going out there and your body is complete," said Gaertner. "It’s just a feeling of freedom." Gaertner has his eyes on the prize: a medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

Ballard, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Bishop Blanchet’s fastpitch softball teams are fighting for a level playing field with the boys. They all share home fields at Lower Woodland Park. That’s based on an agreement between Seattle Public Schools and Seattle Parks & Recreation. On a sunny day, it's an incredible complex. But when you mix Pacific Northwest rain with dirt fields, these teams miss out on using their home fields for 20–30% of the season.

"To be able to represent Washington and Seattle and go to the Olympics. It would mean the world." In Feb. 2024, Ray Wells, Jr. was on top of the world. He ran a blazing 6.48-second finish in the 60-meter dash at an invitational in Spokane, the fastest finish in the world at the time. "Personally, if you’re running at any point and I can remember the race, I’m not running fast enough.

Only 2 teams in @MLB history have overcome a 5+ run deficit to win, hit a grand slam, AND had a walk-off walk: Twins* | 8/27/23 in a 7-6 win Mariners | today in a 7-6 win *Twins 1-and-2 hitters in batting order that day: Donovan Solano & Jorge Polanco. 🤯🤯🤯 #TheMayerGWS
