Delaware County, Pa (WPHL/WJET/WFXP) —After months of legal proceedings and last-minute attempts, Crozer Health System is set to shut down as early as May 2. The system’s owner, Prospect Medical Holdings, which filed for bankruptcy in early January, filed for the closure of its Pennsylvania hospitals Monday. Prospect currently owns two Pennsylvania hospitals, Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, both in Delaware County.

(WPHL)–One man is dead while two other men are injured after a shooting in North Philadelphia on Monday night. Police said it all happened at around 7:30 p.m. near the 1500 block of North 18th Street. When investigators arrived on the scene, they found three men had been shot. One man was transported to Temple University Hospital where he died just after 7:40 p.m., according to police. Investigators have not released the identity of the victim who died.

Talks on how to save Crozer Health System in Delaware County are set to continue Thursday as its future remains unclear. Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital remain open Thursday morning after the hospital’s owners, Prospect Medical Holdings, told a Texas bankruptcy judge Tuesday that it needed $9 million by Wednesday at 4 p.m. to cover payroll and keep the hospitals open for another two weeks.

The future of Delaware County’s largest hospital system is uncertain once again. On Tuesday, Prospect Medical Holdings, the owners of Crozer Health, told a bankruptcy judge that it needs $9 million by Wednesday at 4 p.m. to keep Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland and Taylor Hospital in Ridley open for another two weeks while it tries to negotiate a sale. Prospect said if it doesn’t have the money wired to them by Wednesday afternoon, closure proceedings will begin.
