WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The final defendant in an ongoing RICO case has been sentenced. In a federal court in Waco, 26-year-old Demonta Daniels, aka Tado or Tato, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences with two 20-year concurrent sentences in prison for crimes committed in violation of the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act and the Hobbs Act.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Dash cameras for police officers have been around for a long time, but with technology constantly improving, the Amarillo Police Department is updating its tech. 130 police vehicles are getting new dash cameras. Each car will have one 360 camera on the dash and a camera in the backseat. The cameras can livestream to other officers and read license plates. Livestreams can be viewed by dispatchers, the Amarillo Regional Crime Center and active duty officers.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Rooms are taking shape at the historic St. Anthony’s Hospital. The new Commons at St. Anthony’s is now 60% complete with plans to move residents in this fall. Currently, crews are working on roofing, drywall and flooring. The independent senior living facility is for residents over 55 years old who make less than 60% of the median income.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Center City Amarillo is hosting Imagine the Possibilities this weekend which highlights historic buildings downtown. The downtown tour happens on Saturday morning starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Paramount Building. “This is a chance for people to see behind the scenes and really appreciate what we have,” said Beth Duke, executive director of Center City Amarillo.

The Downtown Dining District in Center City has 30 places to eat, drink or hang out all in one square mile. “We have everything downtown from great authentic Mexican food, steak at Toscana Steak House, craft beer at Six Car, Americana at Crush. There’s something for everyone,” said Beth Duke, executive director of Center City Amarillo.
