KAMR-TV (Amarillo, TX)

KAMR-TV is an NBC affiliate located in Amarillo, Texas, USA. In 2003, the station became part of the Nexstar Broadcasting Group following a merger with its parent company, Quorum Broadcasting. KAMR has shared service agreements with Mission Broadcasting's stations, KCIT and KCPN-LP. The station marked its 50th anniversary of broadcasting in 2003. When KAMR first launched in 1953, it was originally named KGNC-TV, which stood for Globe-News Corporation. It was co-owned by the Amarillo Globe-News and KGNC-AM 710. In 1974, the Globe-News was sold to Stauffer Communications, which subsequently divested KGNC-TV. The new owners of Channel 4 quickly changed the station's call letters to KAMR-TV after acquiring it. Today, KAMR operates its studios and offices in downtown Amarillo, where it also houses KCIT and KCPN-LP. Previously, the station was located in a studio and office complex north of downtown, at the intersection of US 287 and Northeast 24th Avenue.

The drugs were hidden in a vehicle being driven by a 25-year-old female U.S. citizen, CBP said. “This is a significant amount of cocaine that did not reach its intended destination,” CBP Marcelino Serna (Tornillo) Port Director Eric Fernandez said.
